"Silent Hill f: Compatible with Steam Deck, Yet to Be Verified"

Author : Mila Apr 27,2025

Silent Hill f is set to be playable on the Steam Deck, but it will require some additional configuration to ensure optimal performance. Valve's official testing has placed Silent Hill f in the "playable" category, meaning it's not fully "verified" due to the need for manual adjustments to be perfectly compatible with the handheld device. To achieve "verified" status, a game must seamlessly integrate with the Steam Deck's controls and display, passing Valve's stringent checks for input, display, and system support.

Valve's tests indicate that Silent Hill f can be accessed using the default controller configuration on the Steam Deck, and it correctly displays the Steam Deck controller icons. However, some in-game text might be too small to read comfortably. Manual configuration is necessary to enhance the game's performance on the device. This marks a significant improvement over the Silent Hill 2 Remake, which was initially unsupported on the Steam Deck despite subsequent patches. Konami has yet to announce an official release date for Silent Hill f, giving developers more time to refine its compatibility.

PC System Requirements

Konami unveiled the PC requirements for Silent Hill f on its Steam store page last month. These specifications provide insight into how the game might perform on the Steam Deck. Below are the minimum and recommended specs for Silent Hill f:

  • Minimum Specs: NVIDIA GTX 1070, running at 720p and 30fps on Performance Quality settings. Given the Steam Deck's GPU, players might experience a performance downgrade compared to these minimum requirements. While 720p on the Steam Deck might be manageable, connecting to an HD TV could reveal noticeable differences. Konami recommends using an SSD.
  • Recommended Specs: Players can opt for Performance settings at 60fps or Quality settings at 30fps. For these settings, an SSD is mandatory.

During the latest Silent Hill Transmission on March 13, fans got a glimpse of what to expect from the game. Silent Hill f is now available for wishlisting on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. No specific release date has been announced yet. To keep up with the latest developments on Silent Hill f, be sure to check out our related article below!
