The Sims Celebrates Its 25th Anniversary The Sims is marking its 25th anniversary with a plethora of in-game rewards, a star-studded livestream showcasing the best of the Simmer community, and the triumphant comeback of The Sims 1 and The Sims 2 on PC.

Kevin Gibson, The Sims Production Director, expressed gratitude to the players in an Xbox Wire interview, stating, "Our amazing players have shown us that no one does life like The Sims, and we wanted to celebrate this journey together. From a game with a groundbreaking idea at E3 25 years ago to where we are today, we've touched millions of lives across generations." He emphasized that this success wouldn't have been possible without the unwavering support of Simmers over the past two decades. "This 25-year journey is a testament to all Simmers, and this celebration is our heartfelt thank you."

The Return of The Sims 1 and The Sims 2

The Sims Celebrates Its 25th Anniversary The biggest news? The original The Sims and The Sims 2, complete with their DLCs, are back! Available now on Steam and the EA store, either as a Birthday Bundle or individually, these titles offer a nostalgic trip back to the beginning. This is a significant event, as these games haven't been readily available for purchase for almost a decade. EA has addressed the compatibility issues with modern systems, making them accessible to a new generation of Simmers.

In-Game Festivities for The Sims 4 and The Sims FreePlay

The Sims Celebrates Its 25th Anniversary The Sims 4's "Blast From The Past" event introduces iconic items from earlier games, including retro furniture, clothing, and décor. Over four weeks, new items will be released, such as neon inflatable chairs, a three-tiered cake, a light-up dance floor, and even rotary phones.

The Sims FreePlay's Birthday Update transports players back to the series' roots with new Live Events ("The One with the Coffee Shop" and "Reality Island"), a velour tracksuit, 25 days of daily gifts, and a Social Town museum showcasing The Sims' history.

A 25-Hour Livestream for 25 Years of Fun
