Celebrate 25 Years of The Sims with Legacy Collections!
EA and Maxis are commemorating The Sims' 25th anniversary with a fantastic gift to fans: The Sims 1 and The Sims 2 are back on PC! Available now are The Sims: Legacy Collection and The Sims 2: Legacy Collection, sold individually or together in The Sims 25th Birthday Bundle for $40.
These aren't just basic re-releases. Both collections include nearly all expansion and stuff packs. The Sims 2: Legacy Collection is missing only the IKEA Home Stuff pack (2008). As a bonus, The Sims 1 gets the Throwback Fit Kit, and The Sims 2 receives a Grunge Revival Kit.
This marks the first time in over a decade that both games have been readily accessible digitally. The Sims 1 was originally disc-only, making it nearly impossible to play on modern systems. While The Sims 2 was briefly available via an Ultimate Collection, it was later removed from EA's Origin store. Now, all four main Sims titles are easily obtainable.
Our original reviews lauded The Sims 1 (9.5/10) and The Sims 2 (8.5/10) for their charm, simplicity, and challenging gameplay. Despite the series' evolution, the originals remain worthwhile for their unique qualities and historical significance.
The Sims: Legacy Collection and The Sims 2: Legacy Collection are available now on Steam, the Epic Games Store, and the EA app.
