Smite 2's open beta is now live and free-to-play on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC (via Epic Games Store and Steam), and Steam Deck. This launch includes a significant content update from Titan Forge Games.
The highly anticipated sequel, built with Unreal Engine 5, offers enhanced visuals and refined combat compared to its predecessor. A key improvement is the revamped item shop, providing greater item flexibility regardless of god choice. Gameplay retains the core Smite experience: players select gods from diverse cultures to engage in 5v5 battles.
This open beta introduces a wealth of new content:
- Aladdin: A brand-new god designed specifically for Smite 2, boasting unique abilities including wall-running and a three-wish revival mechanic. His ultimate involves trapping enemies in a 1v1 duel.
- Additional Gods: Geb (Egyptian), Mulan (Chinese), Agni (Hindu), and Ullr (Norse) join the roster.
- Game Modes: The popular 3v3 Joust mode returns, alongside Conquest and an alpha version of Assault.
- New Map: An Arthurian-themed map makes its debut.
- Conquest Map Updates: Improvements to the existing Conquest map.
- God Aspects: Optional enhancements for select gods.
The creative director at Titan Forge Games has stated that Smite 2 surpasses the original in several key aspects. The team expressed gratitude for the community feedback during the closed alpha and promised ambitious new content releases in 2025.
While available on most major platforms, Smite 2 is currently unavailable for Nintendo Switch due to performance concerns. However, the developers remain open to a potential release on the Switch 2. Smite fans can now experience the open beta across all supported platforms.
