New Pokémon Arrive in Pokémon Sleep: Sneasel and Weavile!
Pokémon fans rejoice! New Pokémon are now available to befriend in Pokémon Sleep. As of December 3rd, 2024, Sneasel and its evolution, Weavile, have joined the roster. This guide explains how to add these icy, dark-type Pokémon to your team.
Where to Find Sneasel and Weavile
Given their dual Ice/Dark typing in the main series games, you might expect to find them in a snowy location. While they are Dark-type only in Pokémon Sleep, Sneasel and Weavile appear in two locations:
- Snowdrop Tundra: Their primary habitat, reflecting their icy nature.
- Greengrass Isle: Surprisingly, these Pokémon also appear on the starter island, making them accessible to all players regardless of game progress.
Use an EZ Travel Ticket to change your research location if needed.
Sleep Types and Evolution
Both Sneasel and Weavile share the "Dozing" sleep type. Increasing your chances of encountering them requires setting your sleep type to Dozing.
Sneasel is easier to find initially. Evolving it into Weavile requires 80 Sneasel Candy and a Razor Claw. However, you'll still need to encounter Weavile in the wild for Sleep Research data.
Are Sneasel and Weavile Good Additions?
Sneasel's value lies in its ability to gather Wiki Berries, making it a valuable asset for Snowdrop Tundra. It also provides a "Tasty Chance S" skill, boosting the deliciousness of your in-game dishes. Its ingredient requirements include sought-after items.
