The highly anticipated PC version of Stellar Blade is set to launch on Steam on June 11, bringing with it a host of PC-specific enhancements. This exciting news was inadvertently revealed through a trailer that Sony Interactive Entertainment briefly published on the PlayStation YouTube channel before removing it. However, the internet being what it is, the trailer was quickly captured and shared, and we expect an official release soon.
Alongside the PC announcement, the trailer also unveiled the Stellar Blade Complete Edition, which will be available for both PS5 and PC. This edition includes the base game and all the DLC released to date. This news comes more than a year after the successful April 2024 launch of Stellar Blade on PS5, which quickly sold over a million copies and earned $43 million in royalties for Korean developer Shift Up in its last financial year.
The PC version of Stellar Blade will feature a range of enhancements tailored for the platform, including AI upscaling through Nvidia DLSS 4 and AMD FSR 3, an unlocked framerate, support for Japanese and Chinese voiceovers, ultrawide display compatibility, higher resolution environment textures, and DualSense support for haptic feedback and trigger effects.
The trailer also teases new content, including a new boss battle against Mann, the Leader of the Sentinels, and 25 new costumes. These additions are expected to be available on PS5 as well. Additionally, eagle-eyed fans noticed a new scene at the end of the trailer where Eve releases a memory stick, sparking speculation about a potential new ending or additional DLC.
Shift Up anticipates that the PC version will surpass the sales of the PS5 version and has expressed interest in developing another game in the Stellar Blade franchise. In Stellar Blade, players control Eve as she fights to reclaim Earth from unknown invaders in a fast-paced action role-playing game. The game received a 7/10 in IGN's review, praised for its action elements but noted for its lackluster story and some frustrating RPG mechanics.
