Sony has officially unveiled the PC specifications for The Last of Us Part II Remastered ahead of its eagerly anticipated release on April 3. Alongside these specs, Sony has detailed PSN sign-in incentives and announced exciting new content for No Return Mode, available on both PC and PlayStation 5 platforms.
In a detailed post on the PlayStation Blog, developer Naughty Dog, in collaboration with support studios Nixxes Software and Iron Galaxy, outlined the enhanced features coming to the PC version of The Last of Us Part II Remastered. This version arrives a year following the PlayStation 5 release, bringing with it a suite of improvements tailored for PC gamers.
The Last of Us Part II Remastered PC Features:
- Nvidia DLSS 3 Super Resolution support
- AMD FSR 3.1 and AMD FSR 4 support with upscaling and frame generation
- VSync and framerate cap options, including an uncapped framerate option
- DirectStorage support
- Adjustable Texture Quality
- LOD Distance Range
- Volumetric Quality
- Shadow Quality
- Ambient Occlusion
- Reflections Quality
The PC version also supports ultrawide monitors, allowing gameplay in 21:9 ultra-wide, 32:9 super ultra-wide, and even 48:9 resolutions, with compatibility for triple-monitor setups. Gamers can enjoy the game in 4K resolution, with support for various controllers as well as keyboard and mouse controls. The game features 3D audio for an immersive experience.
Keyboard and mouse controls come with new customization options, including full control remapping, primary and secondary bindings, and an adaptive mode that combines keyboard and controller inputs. DualSense controllers on PC will feature full haptic feedback, enhancing the tactile experience of gameplay.
Sony emphasized that "The Last of Us Part II Remastered on PC offers a wide range of graphics settings and presets, to ensure the best possible experience on hardware ranging from high-end PCs to handheld gaming devices."

Moving on to the No Return mode, two new characters, Bill and Marlene from The Last of Us Part I, are being added. Bill, with a "Smuggler" playstyle, can access a custom pump shotgun from dead drops and receives double rewards from drops, though he's stronger against melee attacks but unable to dodge. Marlene, on the other hand, adopts a "Risk Taker" playstyle, featuring a Custom Assault Rifle, "All or Nothing" gambits, and the ability to reroute her No Return path once per run.
Four new maps are also coming to No Return mode: Overlook, School, Streets, and Nest. Each map offers unique settings and challenges, drawing from memorable locations in the campaign.
All the new No Return content, along with new Trophies and bug fixes, will be available on PS5 simultaneously with the PC launch through a free downloadable 2.0.0 patch.
In line with Sony's recent policy change regarding PlayStation Network requirements, The Last of Us 2 Remastered on PC includes an optional PSN log-in. Logging in to PSN offers players the PlayStation overlay, PSN Trophies, 50 in-game points to activate bonus features, and a new skin for Ellie featuring Jordan A. Mun's jacket from Naughty Dog's upcoming PS5 game, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet. PS5 players can also unlock this skin via the 2.0 patch using in-game bonus points.
Earlier this month, The Last of Us director Neil Druckmann shared more about Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, a project in development for four years. In an interview with Alex Garland, Druckmann discussed the game's focus on faith and religion within an alternate historical timeline, featuring Tati Gabrielle as Jordan A. Mun.
The PC release of The Last of Us 2 Remastered comes ahead of Season 2 of HBO's hit TV adaptation, where showrunners Druckmann and Craig Mazin have confirmed the return of spores, which were omitted from Season 1.
