Find Lyonchyk Sprat in Rookie Village (Cordon region). Upon reaching the village center, you'll hear him call out. He'll initially fail to tell a joke, then ask for your help in delivering one to the stalkers around the bonfire to make friends. Agreeing begins the quest.

Lyonchyk instructs Skif to climb into the attic and wait for his cue. A ladder beside the bonfire leads to the attic. Climb up and wait to proceed.
