- Initiating the "For Science!" Quest:
The "For Science!" side quest begins by locating Yaryk Mongoose within the Central Elevator area of the Chemical Plant. Upon approaching, players will hear Mongoose radio Skif, summoning him to the building. Inside the Central Elevator, go left past the conveyor belts, ascend the rusted stairs, vault the railing, and speak with Mongoose on the first floor. He'll explain the need to activate a second device on a nearby silo, initiating the mission upon acceptance.
- Reaching the Silo's Summit:
After the conversation, climb to the building's roof, dispatching any rodents encountered. Exit through a broken window, descend the external ladder, and cross to the silos. Equip your bolt-action weapon to counter electro anomalies. Proceed left along the silo's top to activate the second measuring device. Activating the device will attract a Bloodsucker horde. Players can choose to eliminate them or evade them to reach Mongoose.
- Confronting Yaryk Mongoose:
Upon reaching Mongoose, he'll explain the experiment's unforeseen consequences. Players can choose to kill Mongoose for endangering Skif or accept the reward peacefully. Neither choice impacts the game significantly. Killing Mongoose yields the Malachite pass from his corpse; choosing the peaceful option provides the pass and some coupons. The pass unlocks entry to the STC Malachite base, unless already accessible through main missions.
