Terra Nil's latest free update, Heatwave, introduces breathtaking yet challenging new environments. Published by Devolver Digital in collaboration with Clockwork Acorn and Free Lives, the update is now available on mobile and Steam platforms.
Heatwave brings an expansive arid region to Terra Nil's diverse ecosystems, along with fresh restoration challenges, dynamic wildlife behaviors, and innovative ecological technology.
What's New in Heatwave?
Players will revitalize three distinct maps with unique ecological puzzles. The Parched Oasis draws inspiration from Africa's Okavango Delta, requiring players to clear invasive plants restoring river systems before cultivating savannahs and alluvial plains - with elephants serving as crucial ecosystem engineers.
Canyon Peaks mirrors the Grand Canyon's dramatic landscapes, splitting terrain with a massive gorge. Players must contain resource-draining oil fires on one side while purging radioactivity from urban ruins on the other.
Fracked Floodplain presents industrial oil cleanup challenges before desertwater hole restoration culminates in launching a biofuel rocket to dock with orbiting spacecraft.

Enhanced Wildlife Ecosystems
Heatwave introduces 13 authentic species including crocodiles, elephants, hyenas, and vultures. These animals now behave more naturally and persist longer in restored environments. A new photography mode captures wildlife thriving in revitalized habitats.
The update debuts two major ecological technologies: a remote land-recycling drone and the Xerophytium structure for cactus biome restoration - expanding players' terraforming toolkit.
Terra Nil now encompasses all five major climate zones. Available now on Google Play Store.
