Happy New Year! Welcome to 2025, and congratulations on making it through another full orbit around our stellar sun. As we kick off the new year, it's the perfect time to look ahead at the exciting lineup of video game releases slated for 2025. Here’s a rundown of the biggest titles we're eagerly anticipating!

January 2025

Dynasty Warriors: Origins
On January 17, Tecmo Koei brings back its beloved musou series with Dynasty Warriors: Origins, the first major installment since 2018. Harnessing the power of current-gen consoles, this game promises to fill your screen with hordes of enemies to vanquish while shouting the iconic battle cry, "DIE, NASTY WARRIORS!" You'll be able to play on PS5, Xbox Series consoles, and PC.

For those who enjoy taking out enemies from a distance, Sniper Elite: Resistance launches on January 30. This latest entry in the series continues its tradition of long-range precision and Nazi-targeting action. It sticks to the tried-and-true formula of shooting enemies in sensitive areas, which, let's face it, is a satisfying thrill. Available on all Xbox and PlayStation consoles, as well as PC.

February 2025

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
Is this the real life? Is this just fantasy? No, it's Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, picking up where the original left off. Follow Henry of Skalitz as he navigates the intricacies of 14th-century Bohemia in this immersive historical RPG. With deep role-playing mechanics and a vast open world, you're free to steer Henry's journey as you see fit. Launching on February 11 for current-gen consoles and PC.

On the same day, Sid Meier’s Civilization 7 arrives, the seventh installment in the legendary strategy series. Guide your civilization through the ages with the four Es: Explore, Expand, Exploit, and Exterminate. This title will be available across a wide range of platforms, including Linux, but not on mobile devices at launch.

On February 14, Ubisoft's Assassin’s Creed Shadows transports players to feudal Japan. Choose to play as a ninja or a samurai, or switch between dual protagonists to experience both. Available on current-gen consoles and PC.

For a lighter, quirky Valentine's Day option, Date Everything! offers a sandbox dating sim where you can romance inanimate objects, from sandboxes to walls. With full voice acting, this game promises a unique experience on PS5, Xbox Series consoles, Switch, and PC.

Monster Hunter Wilds
On February 18, Avowed from Obsidian Entertainment launches on Xbox Series consoles and PC. Set in the same universe as the Pillars of Eternity series, Avowed shifts to a first-person perspective with real-time action combat. Though it resembles Skyrim, it's designed to be more concise, akin to The Outer Worlds.

If you're in the mood for some swashbuckling action, Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii arrives on February 21. Follow Goro Majima as he navigates amnesia and a new life as a pirate. Available on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC.

The month wraps up with Monster Hunter Wilds on February 28, coming to Xbox Series, PS5, and PC. Capcom aims to refine the beloved series while introducing new features that leverage current hardware. This game is crafted to appeal to both longtime fans and newcomers.

March 2025

Split Fiction
On March 6, Hazelight’s Split Fiction offers another co-op adventure. Follow a sci-fi and fantasy author trapped in virtual reality, navigating bizarre challenges, including transformations into pigs and hot dogs. One copy allows two players to enjoy the game online, available on PC and current-gen consoles.

Experience the peaceful side of Middle-earth with Tales of the Shire on March 25. This cozy life sim lets you live as an ordinary hobbit, focusing on gardening, smoking pipes, and enjoying the simple pleasures of life. Available on PS5, Xbox Series consoles, Switch, and PC.

Atomfall
For a darker twist, Atomfall launches on March 27, blending elements of Fallout and Stalker in a post-nuclear English countryside. It emphasizes survival over role-playing and explores an alternate future following a major nuclear disaster. Available on all platforms except Switch.

Also on March 27, The First Berserker: Khazan expands the Dungeon & Fighter universe with a single-player action RPG. Experience this on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC.

On March 28, inZOI aims to challenge The Sims with its stunning visuals and innovative gameplay. This South Korean-developed title could be a major hit among Sims fans looking for a fresh experience. Launching on PC, with console versions planned for later.

April 2025

Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves
On April 24, Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves marks the return of the series with its first new game in this century. Featuring familiar faces like Terry Bogard and Mai Shiranui, this fighting game is set to launch on both PlayStation consoles, Xbox Series, and PC. After over two decades, fans hope it lives up to the anticipation.
