- Bofuri is joining forces with Toram Online
- The popular anime follows an MMO player who maxes out her defense stats
- Specifics are still being revealed, but expect limited-edition outfits and cosmetics
It's a curious trend in Japanese anime and manga that MMORPGs are such a frequent source of inspiration! Whether it's being trapped in another world (Sword Art Online), drawing loose inspiration (Overlord), or simply becoming overpowered like in Bofuri. Now, the hit cross-platform MMORPG Toram Online is introducing crossover content from the series.
Bofuri: I Don't Want to Get Hurt, so I'll Max Out My Defense (quite a title, I know) centers on Maple, an MMO player who dislikes taking damage—so she does exactly what the title suggests. She boosts her defense so much that she becomes virtually untouchable.
Alongside her companions, Maple will appear in Toram Online, bringing exclusive outfits and weapon designs. More information is on the way, with the collaboration launching on May 29th.
High defense, low attackFor those unfamiliar with the series, collaborations like this might seem puzzling. But if you play Toram Online, chances are you already have some familiarity with anime and manga culture.
With that in mind, even though full details aren't available yet, you can look forward to plenty of fresh content from this collaboration. And if you haven't already, maybe it'll inspire you to catch the upcoming second season of Bofuri and see what this quirky anime is all about.
