While high demand and scalpers continue to plague the Pokémon TCG community, Walmart appears to be testing a solution by reserving early access to White Flare & Black Bolt sets exclusively for paid Walmart+ members.
Preorders for White Flare and Black Bolt TCG products - including Elite Trainer Boxes, Poster Collection Boxes, and Booster Bundles - launch June 18 at 9 PM ET. However, only Walmart+ subscribers get first access to the three primary products while supplies last.

Non-members can purchase remaining stock after the initial Walmart+ exclusive window. Though Walmart advertises a 30-day trial, product pages like the $60 Black Bolt Trainer Box clearly state preorder privileges during early hours require a paid membership.
The standard Walmart+ membership costs $12.95 monthly or $98 annually ($8.17/month).

While requiring a subscription for guaranteed preorders isn't ideal, Walmart+ offers several perks: free unlimited delivery, Paramount+ access, fuel discounts, Burger King deals, complimentary tire repairs, and prescription delivery.
One odd limitation: New users initially only see the free trial option. To bypass this, start the trial, cancel immediately, then subscribe to paid service.
Students and graduates qualify for 50% off memberships at $6.49/month or $49/year with all standard benefits. Previous academic email addresses typically verify eligibility.
Former Walmart+ members report receiving $1 reactivation offers - making this preorder advantage (plus all other benefits) an exceptional deal for collecting White Flare & Black Bolt sets.
Note that these sets periodically appear at retailers like Amazon and Best Buy as well. While availability fluctuates, checking multiple sources increases your chances of securing sought-after products.
