World of Warcraft players can still earn the coveted Detective title and pursue the elusive Incognitro Felcycle mount, even after the 20th-anniversary event concluded. This is thanks to the relocation of Alyx, the key NPC for the Guest Relations mystery questline.
Alyx, a Lightforged Draenei, has been moved to Dornogal, specifically to the hot springs area northwest of the Delver's Headquarters, near the Foundation Hall. They now sport a new title: "Volunteer Event Coordinator, Among Other Things," and their crucial clue board remains intact.
Securing the Detective Title:
The path to the Detective title involves locating and returning 11 missing Celebration Crates. Here's the process:
- Locate Alyx: Find Alyx in Dornogal, between the Delver's Headquarters and the Foundation Hall stairs.
- Decipher the Clues: Examine Alyx's board for clues indicating the locations of the hidden Celebration Crates. (Note: Players must be at least level 10 to begin Celebration Crate quests, but level 68 is required to access Dornogal.)
- Collect the Crates: Gather all 11 crates.
- Claim Your Rewards: Return the crates to Alyx. Six crates unlock the "Crate Insurance Agent" achievement, while all 11 grant "No Crate Left Behind," "Azeroth's Greatest Detective," and the crucial Detective title. The Detective title unlocks the questline leading to the Incognitro mount.
Important Note: While the Detective title and Incognitro mount remain attainable, other Guest Relations quests from the anniversary event are no longer accessible. This means achievements like "Assistant to the Assistant Guest Relations Manager" and "I Saved the Party and All I Got Were These Lousy Hats," along with their associated transmog rewards, are now unobtainable. The future availability of these rewards remains uncertain.
This strategic move by Blizzard ensures players won't be locked out of obtaining the Detective title and the rare Incognitro mount. While some anniversary content is lost, the core elements of this particular mystery remain available for all players.
