Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders will hit Xbox Game Pass on Tuesday, January 21st, as a day-one release. While Microsoft unveiled the initial January 2025 Game Pass additions earlier this month, many subscribers noted a relatively sparse selection.
The first half of January 2025 primarily saw several Ultimate-exclusive games transition to the Standard tier. Notable exceptions were the addition of the original Diablo to PC Game Pass and EA Sports UFC 5 for Ultimate subscribers. Although Microsoft hasn't officially announced the second wave of January 2025 Game Pass games, at least one more title is confirmed.
Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders launches on January 21st as a day-one Game Pass title, initially available only to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members. This skiing game offers both co-op and PvP gameplay options.

Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders isn't the only exciting day-one addition in the latter half of January 2025. Following a slower start to the month, the second half boasts three more day-one releases alongside Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders: Eternal Strands (January 28th), Sniper Elite: Resistance (January 30th), and Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector (January 31st).
Among these new titles, Eternal Strands stands out. Developed by Yellow Brick Games, a studio led by BioWare veteran Mike Laidlaw, this action-adventure game evokes a strong Zelda feel. Game Pass Ultimate subscribers can enjoy all these new January 2025 games at no extra cost.
February 2025 currently appears less substantial for Game Pass. Avowed is confirmed for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate on February 18th, but beyond that, the lineup remains unannounced. Game Pass Ultimate subscribers can anticipate Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders, Eternal Strands, and the other January 2025 day-one releases while awaiting February's additions.
