RYFFC is an app where YOU are in Control! It's a safe and comfortable space where you can freely share your thoughts on the news without fear of public prosecution. RYFFC redefines the often negative perception of news by democratizing its creation, consumption, and engagement, all while fostering a safe and engaging social experience. This is a NEW WAY to NEWS.
RYFFC is a platform where you'll be exposed to a wide range of thoughts, articles, and opinions. While there's no censorship on our app, we ensure it remains a non-triggering experience through our anti-bullying systems and a comprehensive self-moderation system. This allows users to choose which posts they're ready to see.
Ryff
A key feature of RYFFC is the Ryff. A Ryff is a concise "hot take" on an article, limited to 88 characters, created by the user. Fellow Ryffers engage with articles, pop culture, and news in a fresh way, moving away from traditional comment structures. If you find a Ryff you want to respond to, you can engage with a Ryffer through a Ryff Back. At RYFFC, we take turns, so choose your words wisely as you can only Ryff on another's Ryff once until they respond.
Self Moderation
At RYFFC, our users have the power to self-select the level of controversy or triggering material they wish to see at any given time. We offer three levels of moderation:
- G - "General" audience moderation level, for users who prefer to view only mild or non-controversial content.
- M - "Moderate" audience moderation level, for users who are comfortable with mild to moderately controversial content.
- BE - "Bleeding Edge" audience moderation level, for users who want to view all available content, including highly controversial material.
Voting
In addition to self-moderation, users can vote on the appropriate moderation level for articles, ensuring content aligns with community standards.
Superboost
Superboost adds an exciting twist to the traditional "Like" feature. If you come across a post you really enjoy, you can give it an extra boost to show your appreciation.
Like/Dislike
Our like/dislike system gets a fresh take. Instead of clicking a thumb, simply swipe left or right on the article to express your opinion.
