The tingklik is a traditional Balinese bamboo musical instrument
The tingklik is a traditional Balinese bamboo instrument featuring blade-like keys played by striking them with a specialized mallet known as a "tingklik pelvis." This gamelan ensemble instrument comes in two varieties: Tingklik Polos and Tingklik Sangsih. A standard tingklik consists of eleven to twenty-five bamboo blades, with the exact quantity determined by the musical scale employed. Players use both hands to perform - the right hand executes melodic patterns (kotekan) while the left maintains rhythm (bun). Occasionally, performers alternate roles with the right hand playing sangsih parts and the left handling plain melodies.
