Veilguard Has No Denuvo DRM Because They BioWare delivers good and bad news for Dragon Age: The Veilguard players. The game will launch without Denuvo DRM, but PC players will miss out on pre-loading.

Veilguard: DRM-Free, But No PC Preload

A Trust-Based Approach, No Preload for PC

BioWare's Michael Gamble announced on Twitter (X) that Veilguard will be Denuvo-free on PC, stating, "We trust you." This decision is a welcome relief for many PC gamers who often experience performance issues with DRM software like Denuvo. The absence of DRM has been met with positive reactions from the community.

However, this decision comes with a trade-off: no pre-loading for PC players. With Veilguard requiring at least 100GB of storage, this news is a setback for some. Console players, however, can preload the game. Xbox early access players can install now, while PlayStation early access players will have access from October 29th.

Veilguard Has No Denuvo DRM Because They System requirements were also released alongside the DRM announcement. BioWare aims for broad accessibility with minimum specs, while high-end PCs can leverage ray tracing and uncapped frame rates. Consoles (PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S) will offer fidelity and performance modes targeting 30 and 60 FPS respectively. For maximum ray tracing on PC, you'll need an Intel Core i9 9900K or AMD Ryzen 7 3700X CPU, 16GB of RAM, and an Nvidia RTX 3080 or AMD Radeon 6800XT GPU.
