If you're using the Dexcom G6 or G6 Pro Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) Systems, this app is designed to enhance your diabetes management experience. With the Dexcom G6 and G6 Pro, you can monitor your glucose levels without the need for fingersticks and no calibration is required for your treatment decisions. However, if your symptoms do not align with the readings, fingersticks are necessary for accurate diabetes management.
The Dexcom G6 and G6 Pro Systems deliver real-time glucose readings every five minutes, suitable for individuals with type 1 or type 2 diabetes, and are approved for use in children aged 2 years and older. These systems keep you informed with personalized trend alerts on your smart device, alerting you when your glucose levels are trending too low or too high. This feature empowers you to take proactive steps in managing your diabetes effectively.
One of the standout features is the Alert Schedule, which lets you customize a second set of alerts tailored to your daily routine. For instance, you can set different alert settings for your work hours compared to your off hours. You can also choose custom alert sounds, including a Vibrate-Only option on your phone for glucose alerts. Note that the Urgent Low Alarm cannot be turned off for your safety.
The Always Sound setting, enabled by default, ensures you receive critical Dexcom CGM Alerts even when your phone is set to silent, vibrate, or in Do Not Disturb mode. This allows you to mute calls and texts while still receiving essential alarms and alerts such as the Urgent Low Alarm, Low and High Glucose alerts, Urgent Low Soon Alert, and Rise and Fall Rate alerts. A Home screen icon indicates whether your Alerts will sound or not. For safety reasons, the Urgent Low Alarm and three alerts—Transmitter Failed, Sensor Failed, and App Stopped—cannot be silenced.

- Share your glucose data in real time with up to ten followers using the Dexcom Follow app on their compatible smart devices. Both Share and Follow functions require an internet connection.
- Health Connect access to share retrospective glucose data with third-party apps.
- Quick Glance feature that lets you check your glucose data directly from your smart device's lock screen.
- Wear OS Integration for viewing glucose alerts and alarms on your Wear OS watch.
Please note that the Alert Schedule, Share, Follow, and Quick Glance features are not available on the Dexcom G6 Pro System.
