Marvel Rivals Comments on 30 FPS Bug

Marvel Rivals Addresses 30 FPS Damage Bug Affecting Certain Heroes

Marvel Rivals players experiencing reduced damage output at lower frame rates (FPS) can breathe a sigh of relief. The developers have acknowledged a bug impacting damage calculations, particularly affecting heroes like Dr. Strange and Wolverine at 30 FPS. This issue, stemming from the game's client-side prediction mechanism, causes inconsistencies in damage dealt compared to higher FPS settings.

The problem manifests as noticeably reduced damage, especially when targeting stationary objects, though it's less apparent during live matches. Affected heroes, including but not limited to Dr. Strange, Magik, Star-Lord, Venom, and Wolverine, see diminished effectiveness of some or all their attacks at lower frame rates. Specifically, Wolverine's Feral Leap and Savage Claw abilities are cited as examples.

While a precise fix date remains unannounced, the development team is actively working on a solution. A community manager confirmed the issue and indicated that the upcoming Season 1 launch, slated for January 11th, will address the bug, if not fully resolve it. Any remaining issues are expected to be tackled in subsequent updates.

Despite this setback, Marvel Rivals, launched in early December 2025, continues to enjoy considerable success. Boasting over 132,000 Steam reviews and an 80% player approval rating, the game maintains strong community engagement even amidst early hero balance concerns and this recent FPS-related bug. The anticipated Season 1 update promises improved gameplay and a more consistent experience for all players.
