Game Introduction

Koikoi is an engaging game played with Hanafuda, traditional Japanese playing cards. If you're looking to dive into this fascinating card game, here’s a straightforward guide on how to play Koikoi and enjoy every moment of it.

How to Play Koikoi

To begin playing Koikoi, players take turns throwing a card onto the table. The goal is to create matches based on the months depicted on the cards. If you successfully match cards of the same month, you can claim them for your collection.

The game can reach its conclusion in various ways. If you manage to collect a flush—meaning all your cards are of the same month—you have the option to end the game and score points based on your collection. Alternatively, if you're feeling lucky, you can choose to continue playing to try and accumulate more points.

However, if neither player can score any points by the end of a round, it results in a "no game" situation, and no points are awarded.

The winner of Koikoi is determined over a series of 12 games. The player who accumulates the highest total score across these 12 games emerges as the victor.

Game Record

One of the convenient features of Koikoi is that your game records are automatically saved. This allows you to keep track of your progress and improve your strategy over time.

Now that you understand the basics of Koikoi, gather your Hanafuda cards and start playing. Whether you're playing for fun or aiming to become a Koikoi master, this game offers endless entertainment and strategic depth.
