Ubisoft has unveiled an exciting roadmap for the first year of post-launch content for Assassin’s Creed Shadows, promising a wealth of new features and content to keep players engaged throughout 2025. In a comprehensive four-and-a-half-minute video update, Ubisoft detailed their plans, focusing specifically on the months of May and June, and outlined a series of free updates designed to enhance the gaming experience for fans of the latest stealth-action installment.

The content rollout kicks off in early May with The Works of Luis Frois, the first of several free story add-ons. Accompanying this release will be a Codex update and various quality-of-life enhancements, including significant parkour additions and an updated photo mode. These updates reflect Ubisoft's commitment to responding to community feedback, as emphasized by community developer Daniel St. Germain in the video.
"Your feedback has been a core focus of the team throughout development, and that’s not stopping now that Shadows is released," St. Germain stated. "Regular title updates are coming, each with impactful additions – and changes – based on your feedback and requests, with some bug fixes to continue refining the experience across all platforms."
In June, players can look forward to another free story drop, along with more challenging difficulty settings, enhanced gameplay immersion options, an open-world alarm system, and the ability to toggle headgear visibility during cutscenes. These updates are just the beginning, with Ubisoft planning to introduce new game+ support, additional story content, special collaborations, and more throughout the year.
The highlight of the post-launch roadmap is the Claws of Awaji DLC expansion, set to launch later in 2025. This expansion promises a 10-hour adventure featuring new content, including the Bo staff weapon and a new region for protagonists Naoe and Yasuke to explore. While pricing details are yet to be announced, the expansion will be free for those who pre-ordered Assassin’s Creed Shadows before its launch last month.
