Although the specifics of the announcement were not disclosed, the prominent "IV" displayed in the center of the accompanying image, coupled with a background reminiscent of iconic Oblivion artwork, strongly hints at what fans can expect.
Speculation about an Oblivion remake has been rampant for years, fueled by various leaks. The initial whisper of a remaster surfaced from a leaked 2020 Bethesda release schedule during the FTC vs. Microsoft trial in 2023, which suggested a release in fiscal year 2022.
