"Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile Shuts Down"

Author : Scarlett May 25,2025

After just under a year on the market, Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile is drawing to a close. Activision has officially announced that the mobile version of the popular battle royale game will no longer receive seasonal updates or new content. As of May 18th, the game has been removed from both the App Store and Google Play Store. Real-money purchases within the game have been disabled, and anyone who hasn’t downloaded the app by the specified date will be unable to access it moving forward.

This abrupt closure marks a surprising end to a highly anticipated mobile release that sought to deliver the complete Warzone experience to mobile gamers. Despite Activision's pride in the game's faithful adaptation for handheld devices, Warzone Mobile reportedly struggled to capture the same level of engagement from mobile players as it did on PC and console platforms.

For those who have already installed the game, online access will continue post-May 19th. You can still participate in matches and enjoy online play, though social features will be turned off. There's no set date for when the servers will be fully shut down. The in-game store will remain operational for now, but only for users with existing COD Points—no new purchases can be made.

As a small gesture of goodwill, players with unused COD Points from Warzone Mobile can redeem them in Call of Duty: Mobile. This redemption window is open until August 15th. By logging into Call of Duty: Mobile with the same Activision account, you'll receive double the value of your remaining Warzone Mobile COD Points, along with some additional rewards.

For those yet to install or reinstall the game by May 19th, consider this your final notice. Post this date, no refunds will be provided, and access to the game will be permanently lost. This development serves as a stark reminder that even the most prominent franchises can face challenges in achieving long-term success in the mobile gaming arena.
