Destiny 2's Festival of the Lost 2025: A Horror-Themed Vote and Community Concerns
Destiny 2 players will soon have a chilling choice to make: vote for new horror-themed armor sets in the upcoming Festival of the Lost event. Bungie has unveiled two options: "Slashers" and "Spectres," each offering unique armor designs inspired by iconic horror figures.
This year's Halloween event pits slasher-themed armor against spectral designs. The "Slashers" category features Titan and Hunter armor inspired by Jason Voorhees (Friday the 13th) and Ghostface (Scream), respectively, while Warlocks receive a Scarecrow-inspired set. The "Spectres" option offers Titans as the Babadook, Hunters as La Llorona, and a highly anticipated Slenderman set for Warlocks.
The announcement, however, comes amidst growing player frustration. While the new armor is exciting, many players are expressing concern over persistent bugs and a decline in player engagement within Destiny 2, particularly during Episode Revenant. Issues like broken tonics and other gameplay glitches, though largely addressed, have negatively impacted player sentiment. The community is hoping for more direct acknowledgement of these ongoing problems from Bungie.
The timing of the Festival of the Lost 2025 reveal—ten months in advance—has also raised eyebrows. Many players feel the focus should be on addressing the current state of the game before promoting a future event. The tension between excitement for the new armor and concern over the game's overall health highlights a complex situation within the Destiny 2 community.
