During an intense match of Elden Ring Nightreign, you don’t have much time to pause and analyze numbers or mechanics. In fact, Nightreign’s leveling system is more straightforward than Elden Ring's flexible point-based approach. So, what do the stats actually represent, and which ones should you prioritize?
YouTuber Zullie the Witch recently delved into the underlying data to find out. Even though Nightreign simplifies progression through automatic level-ups, Zullie analyzed and visualized these predetermined stat gains in their video.
A key finding was that the boost from level 1 to level 2 provides a much larger increase than any other level-up, making that initial Site of Grace extremely impactful. In contrast, levels 13 through 15 offer fewer attribute gains for most characters, acting as a soft cap beyond level 12. You will still gain stats, but not as significantly as in the earlier stages.
Zullie also observed that each stat uses a different scaling system across attributes. For example, Duchess has a B rating in Dexterity and an A in Intelligence, but the actual point values she gains per level are surprisingly similar. Additionally, it appears no character receives any Arcane stat increases while leveling up.
For those interested, the character with the highest potential total stats, if recreated in Elden Ring, would be the Recluse. According to Zullie, this is because the Recluse has identical growth in Intelligence and Faith, with both stats maxing out at 51 by level 15.
There are also practical takeaways for optimizing your build. Zullie noted that every point of Vigor increases health by exactly 20 HP, regardless of level. Furthermore, Relics that boost attack stats appear very effective early on, but are eventually surpassed by other damage bonuses as you progress.
