Games Workshop Boosts Staff with $27M Bonus Amid Success

Author : Madison May 26,2025

The prosperity continues at Games Workshop, the creators of Warhammer 40,000, as they announce a generous £20 million (approximately $27 million) bonus to be distributed among their staff. This decision comes on the heels of a highly successful fiscal year ending June 1, 2025.

The Nottingham-based company, renowned for its Warhammer tabletop games and expansive universes, reported a core revenue of £560 million, a significant increase from the previous year's £494.7 million. Licensing revenue also saw a rise, reaching £50 million from £31 million. Core profit climbed to £210 million, up from £174.8 million, while licensing profit soared to £45 million from £27 million. This results in a pre-tax profit of £255 million, up from £203 million.

In light of these impressive profits and "in recognition of our staff's contribution to these results," Games Workshop has decided to distribute £20 million to its employees, an increase from the £18 million bonus given last year. The bonus will be distributed equally among the staff. With an estimated workforce of around 1,500, this means each employee is set to receive approximately £13,333 (around $18,000).

While Games Workshop's primary business revolves around selling miniatures for tabletop wargames like Warhammer 40,000, it is increasingly becoming an IP powerhouse. The company has seen substantial revenue from successful video games such as last year's Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, and animations like Amazon's Warhammer 40,000 Secret Level episode. Furthermore, Games Workshop and Amazon finalized a deal for Henry Cavill's Warhammer 40,000 Cinematic Universe, which will encompass films and television series. Space Marine 3 is also currently in development.

Looking ahead, Games Workshop acknowledges that while licensing revenue reached a record level during this period, it does not expect the same level in 2025/26. However, licensing remains a core focus. The Warhammer 40,000 and broader Warhammer universes continue to grow, showing no signs of slowing down based on these results.

Recently, Games Workshop held its annual Warhammer Skulls showcase, where numerous exciting announcements and trailers were unveiled. Key highlights include a Definitive Edition of Dawn of War and a new Siege mode for Space Marine 2. You can find all the details and trailers right here.
