The Nintendo Switch 2 is set to launch with different pricing strategies for Japan and the rest of the world. This new gaming console will come in two distinct versions: a Japanese-language system exclusive to Japan, and a Multi-Language System available globally. The Japanese version will be priced at approximately $330, while the Multi-Language System version will cost $449.99, reflecting a significant price gap of over $100. This pricing disparity is largely due to the weaker yen against the US dollar, which has made it less attractive for tourists to buy goods in Japan.
For gamers living in Japan, there's the option to purchase the more expensive Multi-Language System. However, the Japanese-language version, priced lower, is exclusively available in Japan and can only be linked to Nintendo Accounts set to the Japanese region. This version supports only the Japanese language and is limited to software available on the Japanese Nintendo eShop.
Nintendo advises fans who want to use the Switch 2 in multiple languages to opt for the Multi-Language System version. Further details about this version will be disclosed on April 4.
