In *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*, melee combat can feel overwhelming, especially at the beginning when you're still mastering the basics. Yet, there's a game-changing move that can simplify things considerably: the Master Strike. Here's how you can learn and effectively use this powerful technique.
Learning the Master Strike in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
The Master Strike is an essential move that Henry must acquire to enhance his combat skills in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*. After you complete the tutorial and gain the freedom to roam the open world, seek out Bara the beggar in Troskowitz. She'll introduce you to an NPC named Tomcat, initiating the Combat Training side quest.
You can find Tomcat at the Nomads’ Camp, which is conveniently located near the Cumans’ Camp and Bozhena’s Hut. Start by speaking to him to begin Combat Training I, a relatively straightforward task. Once completed, save your game and then talk to Tomcat again to start Combat Training II, which poses a much greater challenge.
To unlock the Master Strike, you need to successfully complete Combat Training II and best Tomcat in a swordfight. Although you can attempt this quest early in the game, it's advisable to boost your Strength stat beforehand. Be sure to save your game before each try, as failing the quest can leave Henry in dire straits.
Upon defeating Tomcat in Combat Training II, you'll learn the Master Strike, ready to be deployed in combat.
How to Use Master Strike
The Master Strike can only be executed with swords and not with other types of weapons. During combat, pay attention to where your opponent holds their weapon and position your sword in the opposite direction. For example, if your opponent is attacking from the left, hold your sword to the right.
As your opponent strikes, a green shield icon will flash in the center of the screen. At that moment, press the attack button, and Henry will perform the Master Strike. This action allows him to parry the attack and follow up with an unblockable counterstrike. Timing is crucial; ensure your sword is positioned correctly and hit the attack button when the green shield appears.
Mastering the Master Strike can transform your combat experience in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*, making most encounters much more manageable.
