"Mastering Demon’s Hand: League of Legends Card Game Guide"

Author : Allison Apr 17,2025

*League of Legends* has introduced an exciting new minigame, Demon’s Hand, available in its client until the end of April. If you're familiar with *Balatro*, you'll find the gameplay mechanics quite similar. Let’s dive into how you can set up and start playing Demon’s Hand in *League of Legends*.

League of Legends Demon’s Hand Set-Up and Getting Started

To begin, ensure your *League* client is updated to the latest version. Once updated, click the Play button, navigate to the game type menu, and select Demon’s Hand. This will launch you into the game mode's introductory story before starting your first round of the card game.

Your hand is displayed at the bottom of the screen, with your health, coins, and critical hit chance in the bottom right. Above that, you'll see the Sigil box, which can hold up to six active Sigils, though you start with none. Remember, your health won't regenerate after each battle; instead, visit tent locations on the map to restore it.

The enemy card appears at the top of the screen, with its health and damage shown in the bottom right and left corners, respectively. To the left of the enemy card, an attack coin indicates how many turns you have before the enemy attacks. On the left edge of the screen, a book lists all possible hands you can play and their base damage in a standard round.

How To Play Demon’s Hand in League of Legends

To deal damage, you'll play poker hands, each with a unique name in Demon’s Hand but following standard poker rules. The ultimate hand is The Demon’s Hand, equivalent to a royal flush. Here’s a breakdown of the hands and their poker equivalents:

  • Solo = High Card (10 Base Damage)
  • Dyad = Pair (20 Base Damage)
  • Dyad Set = Two Pair (40 Base Damage)
  • Triad = Three of a Kind (80 Base Damage)
  • Tetrad = Four of a Kind (100 Base Damage)
  • March = Straight (125 Base Damage)
  • Horde = Flush (175 Base Damage)
  • Grand Warhost = Full House (400 Base Damage)
  • Marching Horde = Straight Flush (600 Base Damage)
  • The Demon’s Hand = Royal Flush (2000 Base Damage)

The base damage of each hand is supplemented by the numeric value of the cards played. If an enemy has an ability that nullifies a specific suit, cards of that suit will be crossed out and won’t contribute to the numeric damage, though you can still play them.

Spice Up Your Attacks with Sigils

Sigils add another layer of strategy to Demon’s Hand. You can purchase them during store phases, which are indicated by coins on the map. Coins are earned by defeating enemies, and each Sigil has unique abilities that can enhance your gameplay. For example, some Sigils might boost the damage of specific hands like Dyads, while others could give you extra turns before enemy attacks or reduce the damage you receive.

That's everything you need to know to enjoy the Demon’s Hand card game in *League of Legends*. If this minigame isn't your cup of tea, don't miss out on the upcoming April Fools skins, which promise fun additions to Summoner’s Rift.
