At the Nintendo Switch 2 Experience in Japan, a speedrunner showcased an impressive feat by beating The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild in just 10 minutes, the maximum playtime allowed at the event. Japanese content creator Ikaboze, as reported by VGC, used an existing save file without prior knowledge of Link's equipment. Choosing to tackle the final boss, Ganon, "completely naked and with all my equipment removed," Ikaboze managed to defeat the boss in a mere seven minutes, prompting spontaneous applause from onlookers.

This achievement was particularly notable because Ikaboze was using an unfamiliar controller and could not hear the game due to the convention hall's noise. He expressed surprise at the crowd's size and the attention from staff, who filmed the event on their smartphones. This marked the first completion of the Nintendo Switch 2 Enhanced Edition of Breath of the Wild demo, which boasts improved visuals and performance, achievements, and support for the new "Zelda Notes" service within the Nintendo Switch Online app. Owners of the original Switch version can upgrade to these features with a $10 "upgrade pack," while Nintendo Switch Online and Expansion Pack subscribers can access both Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom upgrade packs at no additional cost.
For those not opting for the upgrade, here are the prices for the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition games in the U.S.:
- Kirby and The Forgotten Land - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Star Crossed World - $79.99
- The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition - $69.99
