Originally developed by Bethesda Game Studios and co-published by Bethesda Softworks and 2K Games, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion was initially slated for release as an Xbox 360 launch title in late 2005. However, due to unforeseen development delays, the Xbox 360 and PC versions were eventually released in March 2006.
The mobile version, crafted by Superscape and published by Vir2L Studios, hit the market in May 2006. The PlayStation 3 edition followed in North America in March 2007, and in Europe in April 2007.
