Pokemon GO: Black and White Kyurem Arrive for GO Tour: Unova
Get ready, Pokemon GO trainers! Black and White Kyurem are finally debuting in Pokemon GO during the global GO Tour: Unova event, taking place March 1st and 2nd. These highly anticipated legendary Pokemon will be available in raids, offering players the chance to catch both their standard and shiny forms. The event also features special event backgrounds inspired by the original Pokemon Black and White games.
The arrival of Black and White Kyurem has been a long-awaited moment for many fans. While a surprise early release occurred in 2023, their official inclusion in GO Tour: Unova makes their availability permanent. Their potential impact on the game's competitive scene is significant.
Niantic's announcement confirms the legendary duo's presence within the Unova-themed event. This is a fitting addition, given the event's focus on the region where Kyurem first appeared.
Fusion Frenzy: Creating Black and White Kyurem
Similar to last year's Necrozma fusion event, players can fuse Kyurem with other legendary Pokemon:
- Black Kyurem: Fuse with Zekrom using 1000 Volt Fusion Energy, 30 Kyurem Candy, and 30 Zekrom Candy.
- White Kyurem: Fuse with Reshiram using 1000 Blaze Fusion Energy, 30 Kyurem Candy, and 30 Reshiram Candy.
These fusions are temporary; separating the Pokemon is free. The necessary Fusion Energy is earned by defeating Kyurem in raids. Each fused form boasts a unique attack: Black Kyurem learns Freeze Shock, while White Kyurem learns Ice Burn.
Event Bonuses: Exclusive Backgrounds
Complete your Kyurem collection and earn special event backgrounds! Two unique backgrounds, themed after Pokemon Black and White, are available. Unlocking both requires fusing both Black and White Kyurem, resulting in a third, even more unique background.
With GO Tour: Unova rapidly approaching, prepare for a whirlwind of Unova-region excitement and the chance to finally add Black and White Kyurem to your Pokemon GO roster! The event runs March 1st and 2nd, from 10 AM to 6 PM local time.
