This Tuesday, January 7th, 2025, from 6 PM to 7 PM (local time), Voltorb and Hisuian Voltorb take center stage! Prepare for a double dose of catching excitement and the pursuit of Shiny Pokémon. Both offer valuable combat advantages, particularly when extra damage is crucial.
Given the two featured Pokémon, maximize your chances by stocking up on Poké Balls, Berries, and Incense. These items boost your catch and evolution rates, increasing your odds of finding a Shiny. Also, clear some space in your Pokémon storage – you'll be catching a lot!
Voltorb (#100 in the Pokédex), a Kanto region Pokémon, is tradeable and transferable to Pokémon HOME. Catching it yields 3 Candies and 100 Stardust. It's a two-stage evolution, evolving into Electrode with 50 Candies. Boasting a max CP of 1141, 109 Attack, and 111 Defense, Voltorb packs a punch.
As an Electric-type, Voltorb is weak against Ground-type moves (160% damage) and resistant to Electric, Flying, and Steel-type moves (63% damage). Hisuian Voltorb, also #100, shares Voltorb's family and stats (1141 CP, 111 Defense, 109 Attack), tradeability, and transfer capabilities to Pokémon HOME. It evolves into Hisuian Electrode with 50 Candies, rewarding 3 Candies and 100 Stardust per catch. While also Electric-type, its type matchups differ slightly.
Hisuian Voltorb takes increased damage from Bug, Fire, Ice, and Poison-type moves (160% damage), while resisting Grass, Steel, and Water-type moves (63% damage), and Electric-type moves (39% damage). Its best moveset is Tackle and Thunderbolt, yielding 5.39 DPS and 37.60 TDO. Partly cloudy and rainy weather enhance its damage output.
