This expanded offering is due to the developers' decision to introduce the Fantastic Four as a group, a move they felt would enhance the player experience.
This supercharged season includes:
- Three new maps: Explore iconic New York City locations – the Sanctum Sanctorum (launch day), Midtown (for Convoy missions), and Central Park (details to be revealed later).
- New game mode: The Sanctum Sanctorum introduces the exciting new Doom Match mode.
- The Fantastic Four's Arrival: Mister Fantastic (Duelist) and Invisible Woman (Strategist) debut in Season 1, with The Thing and Human Torch joining the roster in the mid-season update (approximately six to seven weeks after launch).
The developers highlighted the substantial increase in playable content in a recent Dev Vision video. While the expanded Season 1 sets a precedent, the long-term impact on future season content remains unclear.
