Mariah Carey has arrived in Fortnite, kicking off the 2024 Winterfest event! To complete the Wintervestigation Quests, you'll need to locate SGT. Winter. Here's how to find him.
SGT. Winter's Location in Fortnite Chapter 6
The initial Wintervestigation Quest sends players to SGT. Winter for a chat. These Quests involve teaming up with Noir to uncover clues and find new NPCs across the Chapter 6 map.
The Quest tracker will pinpoint SGT. Winter's location – near a plane crash site atop a snowy mountain east of Warrior's Watch and south of Foxy Floodgate. It's close to Mariah Carey's in-game performance location.
Talking to SGT. Winter
SGT. Winter is an NPC roaming near the plane wreckage. He's marked on your map and HUD with a speech bubble. Interact with him; you can buy items (Holo Twister Assault Rifle, Blizzard Grenade) or start a conversation.
To begin the Wintervestigation, select the magnifying glass icon. He'll give you a new mission, directing you to Noir in Seaport City. Completing the dialogue rewards 25,000 XP.

Surviving the SGT. Winter Hotspot
Reaching SGT. Winter can be tricky, as the area is a popular drop zone. Consider waiting a few days for the crowds to thin. Alternatively, strategically land near chests within the plane wreckage for cover and loot. Many players might only have pickaxes, giving you an advantage with a good team and early loot. Consider purchasing items from SGT. Winter to quickly acquire valuable early-game gear.
