Torchlight: Infinite is set to unveil its next chapter with the launch of Season 8: Sandlord on April 17th. This season promises a significant overhaul, introducing new gameplay elements and real-world prizes that will elevate the ARPG experience to new heights.
In Season 8, players will dive into the innovative Cloud Oasis, a new feature that shifts the focus from mere monster-slaying to empire-building in the sky. Here, you'll engage in economic gameplay, managing resources, assigning workers, and overseeing production lines to fortify your aerial stronghold. This new mechanic adds a strategic layer, allowing players to build and expand their empire amidst the clouds.
Returning character Thea brings a fresh twist with her new Blasphemer trait. This season, she trades her divine abilities for the curse of Desecration, which starts off modest but scales dramatically. As Thea's blessing power diminishes, her Erosion damage increases, offering players the chance to optimize builds towards area-of-effect explosions or health-scaling effects. This mechanic is a boon for players who relish damage-over-time strategies and intricate build synergies.
Endgame content in Torchlight: Infinite is receiving a major update with Deep Space being completely revamped. The new version includes five additional stages, expanded maps, and more formidable foes. Players can now adjust the difficulty and rewards through the innovative Probes system. Each Probe increases the challenge level but also enhances the potential for better loot, including access to Compass chests via the Compass Probe.
The update also introduces the Blending System for belt crafting, which allows for the fusion of Hero Traits, Talent nodes, and unique affixes into a single item slot. This system offers players deeper customization and more complex build options. Additionally, a new boss, Night Slayer – The Wilting Plume, has been added to the Plane Watcher and the 20th floor of Supreme Showdown, providing fresh challenges for seasoned players.
To celebrate the launch of Season 8, Torchlight: Infinite is hosting the Sands of Fortune anniversary event from April 17th to May 1st. During this event, players can complete tasks, earn Gold Rush Attempts, and compete for a share of a $250,000 prize pool.
