Microsoft has announced an exciting lineup for the first wave of Xbox Game Pass titles in May 2025, featuring a diverse selection of games that cater to various gaming preferences. The rollout begins on May 6 and continues through to May 20, with a total of 12 games hitting the subscription service.

The highlight of this wave is undoubtedly Doom: The Dark Ages, the latest entry in id Software's iconic first-person shooter series. As a Microsoft-owned title, it will be available on Game Pass from day one on May 15. This prequel to the critically acclaimed Doom (2016) and Doom Eternal promises an epic cinematic experience set in a dark medieval war against Hell. Players can dive into the blood-soaked boots of the Doom Slayer and enjoy early access, campaign DLC, and more with the Premium Upgrade.

Starting the month off on May 6, Dredge (Cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X|S) joins Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass, and Game Pass Standard. This single-player fishing adventure with a sinister twist invites players to explore a mysterious archipelago, uncover long-buried secrets, and upgrade their boat as they delve deeper into the unknown.

On May 7, Game Pass sees a flurry of new additions. Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 (Cloud, Console, and PC) will be available across Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass, and Game Pass Standard. Additionally, Dungeons of Hinterberg (Console), Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn (Xbox Series X|S), and Metal Slug Tactics (Console) will join Game Pass Standard, offering a range of genres from action RPGs to tactical adventures.

May 8 brings Revenge of the Savage Planet (Cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X|S) to Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass as another day-one release. In this game, players navigate a future marred by corporate greed, exploring alien worlds and seeking revenge against their former employer. Joining it on the same day is Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants Unleashed (Cloud, Console, and PC), which will be available across Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass, and Game Pass Standard. This new adventure lets players join the Turtle brothers on a mission to fight crime and unravel an epic saga.

Moving to May 13, Warhammer: Vermintide 2 (Cloud and Console) returns to the Game Pass library on Game Pass Ultimate and Game Pass Standard. This 4-player co-op game set in the Warhammer Fantasy Battles world offers intense first-person combat against the forces of Chaos and Skaven.

On May 16, Kulebra and the Souls of Limbo (Cloud, Console, and PC) launches on Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass as a day-one title. This papercraft adventure game invites players to explore Limbo, a place where souls with deep regrets are cursed to repeat the same day.

Rounding out the lineup on May 20 are Firefighting Simulator: The Squad and Police Simulator: Patrol Officers (both Cloud, Console, and PC), available across Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass, and Game Pass Standard. These simulators offer immersive experiences in firefighting and law enforcement, respectively.

As always, some titles will be leaving the Game Pass library on May 15, including Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons, Chants of Sennaar, Dune: Spice Wars, Hauntii, and The Big Con. Subscribers can take advantage of their membership discount to save up to 20% and keep these games in their library.

With this robust lineup, Xbox Game Pass continues to deliver a wide array of gaming experiences to its subscribers, ensuring there's something for everyone in May 2025.
