Is Marvel Rivals Doing a Mid Season Rank Reset for Season 1?

Author : Lily Mar 17,2025

The upcoming major update for Marvel Rivals has sparked some confusion regarding a potential rank reset for Season 1. While rank resets are common in live-service games at the start of each season, offering a fresh start and a chance to climb the ranks, Marvel Rivals initially planned a mid-season reset on February 21, 2025, coinciding with the release of The Thing and Human Torch. This decision, however, met with significant player backlash.

Responding to player feedback, NetEase Games announced a change of plans. Their statement clarified that there will be *no* mid-season rank reset. Players will retain their current ranks and scores. To earn new rewards, players simply need to complete 10 competitive matches and meet specific conditions by the end of the season. These rewards include a new Gold rank costume and various Crests of Honor with unique designs for Grandmaster, Celestial, Eternity, and One Above All ranks.

This decision is a positive response to community concerns and demonstrates NetEase's commitment to listening to player feedback. It offers high-ranking players more time to compete at the top level and sets a positive precedent for future updates.
