Will Wright, creator of The Sims, reveals more about his new AI-powered life simulation game, Proxi, in a recent Twitch livestream. This innovative game, first hinted at in 2018, transforms personal memories into interactive 3D experiences.
The livestream, part of BreakthroughT1D's Dev Diaries series, showcased Proxi's unique approach to gameplay. Players input their memories as text, and the game's AI engine converts them into animated scenes within a customizable 3D "mind world."
This "mind world," a visually striking landscape of hexagons, expands as more memories ("mems") are added. The game also populates this space with AI representations ("Proxies") of friends and family, allowing players to arrange memories chronologically and connect them to specific Proxies. Remarkably, these Proxies can even be exported to other game environments like Minecraft and Roblox!
Wright emphasized Proxi's focus on personalized experiences, stating that the game's success hinges on its ability to center around the player's own life. He humorously noted his belief in the inherent self-interest of players, leading to the game's deeply personal design.
Proxi is currently featured on Gallium Studio's website, with platform announcements expected soon.
