Application Description

IPTV, or Internet Protocol Television, is a service that lets you stream TV channels over the internet. With the right app on your Android device, you can enjoy IPTV from your Internet service provider or explore free live TV channels available online. The app itself doesn't come with pre-loaded channels, so you'll need to set up your own playlist to start watching.

The beauty of this app is that it's completely free and ad-free, ensuring a seamless viewing experience. Whether you're tuning into your ISP's offerings or exploring other online sources, you can customize your viewing experience to your liking.

Features: The app supports M3U and XSPF playlists, allowing you to manage your channel lists efficiently. You can also keep track of your playlists with the history feature. For those interested in multicast streams, the app supports playing these with a UDP proxy, which you'll need to install on your local network. You can choose how you view your channels with options for grid, list, or tile views. The app also supports Electronic Program Guides (EPG) in XMLTV and JTV formats, ensuring you never miss your favorite shows. You have the flexibility to use either internal or external video players, and there's even a parental control feature to keep content appropriate for all ages.

Additional features in the Pro version: Upgrade to the Pro version to enjoy an ad-free experience, the option to start the app automatically when your device boots (perfect for set-top boxes), and the ability to auto-play the last channel you watched. Plus, you get an extended history of your playlists.

For multicast streams, using a UDP proxy is recommended: On Windows, you can download and install the UDP-to-HTTP proxy from here or opt for the corresponding feature during the installation of IP-TV Player from here. Linux users can install udpxy from here or here. For the best performance, consider installing udpxy on your WLAN router, which is possible with DD-WRT (here) and OpenWrt (here) firmware. Some routers even come with udpxy built into the manufacturer's firmware.
