Breakout indie hit Peak has officially surpassed 10 million copies sold, according to industry analyst Rhys Elliott of Aliena Analytics and Gamescom Opening Night Live host Geoff Keighley.
A Meteoric Rise for the Climbing Adventure
Elliott first revealed the sales data in his industry newsletter this Monday, noting the game sold 1.7 million copies last week alone and was projected to cross the 10 million threshold by Tuesday. Keighley later confirmed the milestone during his Gamescom presentation. This makes Peak the second 2025 indie release to achieve this feat, following R.E.P.O.'s 16.8 million sales.
The climbing simulator has dominated Steam charts since its June launch, consistently ranking among the platform's most-played titles. As of writing, SteamDB reports approximately 88,000 concurrent players - surpassing Naraka: Bladepoint and trailing just behind GTA 5.
Record-Breaking Player Engagement
The game's popularity skyrocketed further last week when a promotional sale slashed prices from $7.99 to $4.95 alongside the Mesa content update. Alinea Analytics reports the title peaked at 171,000 concurrent players on Sunday with 1.3 million unique players that same day.
Developed by Aggro Crab, Peak challenges up to four players to cooperatively scale treacherous mountains while managing stamina and overcoming environmental obstacles. The game's explosive success has spawned numerous Roblox imitations, prompting the studio to controversially state they'd prefer players pirate their game rather than support "microtransaction-heavy Roblox knockoffs."
